This is a great place. There is no charge to see anything anymore. My daughter thought it was a fun place to visit.
[Mary Beth Niebler, 06/26/2013]The Mammoth sported a giant santa hat during the holiday season.
[Matchu, 03/16/2012]The large creature viewed from the 60 freeway is a Colombian Mammoth, not a mastodon or elephant. This is but one of the facts I learned by visiting the Jurupa Mountain Cultural Center. Many dinosaurs are throughout, and they had a fantastic collection of fossils, I was able to touch a 55,000 old Mammoth tusk.
Very educational along with tons of fun; the people working there know their stuff and have a passion for their work.

A huge rusty mammoth statue! He's been standing on that hill for as long as I can remember. Clearly visible from the 60 freeway.
[Kindra, 06/25/2009]It is a mammoth, and it's made of now-rusted iron. It's also a cryptic billboard for the nearby Jurupa Cultural Center, which is surrounded by other rusty extinct animals.
I have noticed these dinosaurs for years visible from the 60 freeway in Riverside, CA. They are at the Jurupa Mountains Cultural Center. There are eight large dinosaurs up on the hillside.
I have really only seen this place from the fwy and have not visited it yet. You apparently take a walking tour through the Jurupa Mountain Cutural Center; at the end of the tour you will find fossils.
