Half-Buried Phoenix

When the Hollywood Casino opened three years ago it was expected to help revitalize the Hilltop neighborhood, but thus far that hasn't happened. There are still lots of abandoned storefronts in the area, including an entire shuttered shopping center nearby. A statue was unveiled recently on the casino grounds, titled "Hilltop Rising," and is meant to represent the area's rebirth, so maybe there is still a chance of that happening. When I first saw it from the street I thought it was a dragon, but when I got closer and saw the title I realized that it is actually a Phoenix. It was created by artists Andrew Lundbeg and Eric Vacheresse.
