The bar will be closing for good on October 24th, 2019 due to the property being sold. The owners will be moving the art gallery that housed the bar down the road to 2022 1st Ave in Fernandina Beach. However, the bar will not be reopening at the new location.

The Outhouse only serves drinks on special occasions, but it has regular hours for those who just want to say they've seen a bar in a former tiny bathroom.

Can go to see, but basically only serves drinks at special events.

The Smallest Bar in Florida is in coastal Fernandina Beach, where the Florida shrimping industry was born. The bar is affectionately called "The Outhouse" because it was formerly a working modern-day bathroom which was roughly the size of a standard outhouse. The bathroom was slated for destruction and removal before the current owners decided to transform it into Florida's smallest working bar. It has a capacity of three persons, one of which is the bartender. It also has a fold-down resin-epoxy hand-made bar, a sound system, a TV, and hundreds of framed photos of movie and TV bar scenes covering every wall.
