Cuban Giants Monument (1st African-American Baseball Team)

A monument commemorates the former site of the Argyle Hotel, birthplace of the first African-American professional baseball team in 1885. Originally named the Babylon Black Panthers, this team of hotel employees changed their name to the Cuban Giants in order to reduce racial tensions and appeal to a broader audience.
