Sacramento, California: Riverboat Abandoned
Star of a ridiculous 1955 anti-commie John Wayne film, "Blood Alley." Renamed the Mansion Belle, then the Spirit of Sacramento, it caught fire in 1996, sank, and was eventually hauled up onto dry land.

- Directions:
- Northwest of the city, on the east bank of the Sacramento River. From I-5 exit onto CA-99 and drive north 5.5 miles. Exit 311 onto Riego Rd. Drive west three miles. Turn left at the stop sign onto Garden Hwy. Drive a half-mile. The riverboat will be on the right, behind some trees -- and a lot of No Trespassing signs -- sitting on the grass.

Thought it was completely blocked by trees, but if you keep going there is a clear view of the riverboat.

There is an old riverboat on the side of Garden Highway, north of the Sacramento airport. It is on private property but you can get great photos of the boat from the side of the road. The ship was used in the 1955 John Wayne film, "Blood Alley." It was formerly named the Mansion Belle.
