A mythical beast with forty legs terrorized plants millions of years ago. According to the nearby plaque, it is from the Coal Age of the Earth. The creature can even live under beds, but doesn't eat children. The statue is part of Springfield Sculpture Walk, found throughout the downtown.

Unless Springfield purchases Catapillasaurous, it will only be on display until Feb. 2019.
