A larger-than-life sculpture of Abraham Lincoln greets pedestrians who pass by the theater which bears his name on U Street NW. It was created in 2013 by makeup artist Kazuhiro Tsuji, who won an Academy Award in 2018 for his work on The Darkest Hour. The bust is startlingly lifelike, once you move past the fact that it's twice life-size. Hopefully this Lincoln, who sits behind glass, will fare better at the theatre than the real one.
