25,000-square-foot facility paid tribute to America's furry freakish sports ambassadors. Visitors could put on a sandbag vest and find out what mascot dancing does to your heart rate. Surprise appearance by Richard Nixon. Closed permanently September 14, 2024.

Found this on RA and realized how close to Chicago it was. I think it is a little more geared to kids, but I found the history of the mascots to be interesting. There were several interactive exhibits to demonstrate how much work goes into being a mascot, and it is harder than it looks! Solid execution, and worth a visit if you are in the area.

The National Mascot Hall of Fame is a 25,000-square-foot, multi-million dollar facility with a wide range of exhibits and a fun zone for mascot interactions and performances.
