Grave of the Chesterville Witch

Check out this witch's grave! Chesterville is not even on the map any more, although it still exists as an Amish/Mennonite community. Over 100 years ago a 15-year-old girl who challenged her Amish upbringing and questioned the treatment of women was deemed a witch, went missing, then turned up dead in a field. When she was buried in the town cemetery, an oak tree was planted over her grave to trap her soul. The tree has since grown around the wrought iron fence that surrounds the grave. As long as the tree is alive it will keep her soul from seeking revenge. Here's the really creepy part: a couple of years ago someone girdled the tree (you can see the cut line around the base) in an attempt to slowly kill it.
