An unfortunately-proportioned mural honors boxer Chuck Wepner, a.k.a. "the Bayonne Bleeder," who still resides in town. Sylvester Stallone was inspired to write the script for Rocky after watching Wepner's 1975 fight against Muhammad Ali, during which the relative unknown from blue-collar Bayonne went 15 rounds with the world heavyweight champion. The building's owner was never told that the 30-foot-high mural would be affixed to his property -- it just showed up one day.
