Artist Dan Painter had built a colorful, compressed 1950s version of St. Petersburg, in a former vacant lot, since 2014. He also lived there.

- On the south side of Emerson Ave. S. just west of its intersection with 25th St. S. Look for the patchwork fence. Bang on it with the wrench door knocker. Dan Painter -- if he's around -- will eventually let you in (It may take several minutes). He welcomes visitors.

Not open. Met the artist Dan Painter on 9/25/19. Tiny Town took over four years to finish, and was open only nine months. Dan tore it down and has started a new project! Awesome guy, and there's a great glass art gallery down the same street.

Dan -- whose elusiveness, hairiness, and size earned him the nickname "Sasquatch of St. Petersburg" -- has said in the past that his greatest joy in life is working on a project. So it makes sense that once he finished Tiny Town, he destroyed it.
