Lone Pine, California: Earthquake Survivor: Adobe Wall
One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded (7.4 to 7.9), March 26, 1872, destroyed 52 of 59 buildings and killed 27 people in town. The last remaining adobe wall (from the general store) is preserved behind a fence. E Clampus Vitus marker.

The E Clampus Vitus historical marker for Lone Pine's last structure survivor of the 1872 quake was dedicated in 2000. It's along the main street, and a smaller sign directs adobe wall fans to the "alley behind La Florista."
