- West edge of downtown. From US-1A turn south onto Lindsay Rd, across from the big white church. You'll immediately see an old cemetery on the left. The Memorial is the large gravestone slab next to the road.

Named for the day, not the victims. At least 40 settlers were killed by Indians under French command, and then more captive survivors perished on a forced mid-winter march to Canada.

This massacre was something big. I had never heard of it, and this memorial is a great homage to those who were killed. The upright white stone is about halfway down the cemetery on your left, close to the stone wall.
While there, take a look around. There are some very old and unique tombstones and monuments within this cemetery.
