Sir John Templeton, knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, was a Tennessee native, notorious financier, and spiritualist crackpot. His library was his own; it was never meant for the public. Since his death in 2008 -- he lived to be 95 -- the building has been rented out for apartments. In front of the building stands a full-color statue of Templeton, circa 1950. Now that he's dead, visitors have been posting rude photos of themselves hanging off of the statue. It may not last much longer.
