Middletown, Delaware: Skull Silo at Frightland

A disturbing, hand-painted sight; some call it "Satan's Tampon." Always visible from highway, but gets active in October, natch, with the haunted house and hay ride.

US Hwy 13, Middletown, DE
US 13 northbound at Port Penn Rd, one mile south of the St. Georges Bridge.
Always visible, gate locked. Oct. event hours. (Call to verify) Local health policies may affect hours and access.

Skull Silo at Frightland

The Skull Silo is easy to see directly off of US 13. It is even cooler now, as it has a crashed aircraft in front of it!

Yep. Still looks like a tampon. The gate was open and it looked like there were people mowing the grass, but we had zero problem driving over to the silo. There's also a huge airplane "crashed" on the property.

It is actually visible from Hwy 13 approx .3 miles after the toll booth heading north and .3 before the toll booth heading south. Using 2075 DuPont Pkwy, Middletown DE 19709 might direct you a bit better.

Frightland: Skull Silo

Frightland, a seasonal haunted farm attraction, is dormant for most months. The larger Halloween props are left year-round in Frightland's overgrown field along Rt. 13.

Frightland: Skull Silo

Frightland is a haunted farm attraction on Rte. 13 in Delaware going north before you hit the St. Georges bridge. My parents live next to this thing, and I call it Satan's Tampon. It's a tall white silo with a scary sharp toothed skull on it. They also have a barn with an open mouthed goblin painted over the entrance of the barn.

The funniest thing about this silo is every once in a while they will repaint it at Christmas with a Santa Claus face, but you can see the skull through the santa face, so santa looks kinda evil.
