Bill Gifford of Northfield, New Jersey, spent four years building a small version of a WWII submarine. He named it USS Needlefish. Now it sits on concrete blocks in front of a Corpus Christi beachwear store.

The mini-sub sits in front of a beachwear store in Corpus Christi. According to a sign in the store, the sub was built to resemble a World War II diesel-electric submarine by Bill Gifford of Northfield, New Jersey. It was constructed over a four-year period, beginning in 2001, and took over 4,000 hours.
