- Drive south on Rosecrans St. At the stoplight turn left onto Shelter Island Drive. Take first right off the traffic circle. Drive a half-mile. The memorial will be on the left, just past the playground and parking lot.

The sculpture, by Franco Vianello, depicts Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Slavic tunamen, who at one time had San Diego as their home port. It was dedicated in October 1988.
