This very professional museum opened in May 2019. It tells the story of the Civil War using real life stories and a vast store of artifacts. While JEB Stuart's death jacket may be in another, close-by museum, the rest of his kit, including his boots, are here. You can find locks of hair from John Wilkes Booth and primitive prosthetic limbs, plus the coat Jefferson Davis was wearing when he was captured. The Rosette Bullet, formed from two colliding bullets from the opposing sides, was also impressive.
The museum is in the remains of the Tredager Ironworks, armaments maker for the Confederacy.
