Last Moon Rock.

Last Moon Rock: December 14, 1972

It's been 50 years since the last souvenir rocks left the Moon on December 14, 1972. The lack of a fresh supply hasn't dimmed their allure as showoff travel treasures at America's space attractions. They're often enshrined in sealed, protective plexiglass. Humankind's imminent return to the Moon will make these rock tchotchkes as common as they are unattractive, but museums will always compete to display the Apollo-era Space Race specimens.
