Bayfield, Wisconsin: Large Mechanical Wolf
A super-sized wolf made from recycled plastic bottles, egg cartons, and other junk. A rope tug once made the wolf howl, and peddling a stationary bike would spin a globe inside its gullet, but those features may no longer work.

The wolf is still worth a look, but is missing some of its plastic fur, and no longer moves. The bicycle is broken and the rope to move the head is tied off and not moving. The globe is still inside the wolf's gullet. Posing for still shots doesn't give away that it is non-moving.

You really can't miss this wolf when driving into Bayfield. Worth a quick stop to check out!

It was fun to see. The rope was broken, so couldn't make it howl -- but the bicycle works. They have a nice mowed path to it.

An animated sculpture of a wolf, made from recycled plastic bottles, egg cartons, and other such stuff. A rope is attached to the head, and you can pull on it to make the wolf howl. And there's a globe inside the wolf, attached to a stationary bike under it, so that you can pedal the bike and make the globe turn. My kids had a blast with it!
