- From US Hwy 11 in Slidell, turn west at the stoplight onto LA-433. Drive 3.5 miles. The catfish will be on the left, just before the intersection of Nunez Rd.

The catfish is now laying on its side, with a broken tail. It looks as if it fell over at some point. It is in need of repair.
[Scott Hammond, 12/29/2021]This giant catfish was once on the sign of Kelly's Katfish Korner, located on Hwy 11 (Pontchartrain Drive) just before the Hwy 11 bridge. I worked there one summer in 1981.

[Smith, 07/15/2018]This catfish could be the one that once was perched atop a local seafood restaurant. The restaurant closed and the big fish was apparently moved inland -- fortunately, because the restaurant building was destroyed in 2005 by Hurricane Katrina!
