Town made toxic by PG&E's carcinogenic hexavalent chromium-6 leak was subject of Hollywood's "Erin Brockovich." After 1996 settlement of $333 mil, most residents moved. The utility bought 2/3rd of the land, bulldozed structures, continued cleanup.
