Kit Carson County Fairgrounds. I-70 exit 437 or 438. Go north past all of the fast food restaurants to the stoplight. Continue north, cross the railroad tracks and then take an immediate right (east) on a gravel road past Joe's Garage. Continue east past the baseball field and the Fairgrounds will be on your left. Turn into the Fairgrounds. The Carousel is housed in the large twelve-sided building.
Summer daily 11-6 (Call to verify) Local health policies may affect hours and access.
25 cents for a ride, $1 for museum.

Kit Carson County Carousel

Able to ride a historic merry-go-round for a quarter. Museum is full of carousel artifacts and information, just a dollar to visit. Carousel is owned and operated by the people of Kit Carson County. Located at the Kit Carson County Fairgrounds.

The carousel was built in 1905, and moved here in 1929. Spins at 12 mph, which apparently is fast for a carousel. Hang on.
