A beautiful large public mural painted by Keith Haring in 1987 is on the outdoors wall of the public pool at Tony Dapolito Recreation Center in Greenwich Village. It is visible from both Leroy St. and Clarkson St. The swimming pool was also used in the movie "Raging Bull." Jerry Orbach grew up swimming here.
Also, the front of the recreation center was used as the exterior for the TV show "Person of Interest" as a police precinct. The house used for the Huxtable family on "The Cosby Show" is across Leroy St.
