Copper Harbor, Michigan: Keweenaw Rocket Range Monument
Small, headstone-size granite monument marks the site of a remote, abandoned, and mostly forgotten NASA launch facility. "Michigan's first rocket to enter space was launched from this site on Jan. 29, 1971."

- Rocket Range Rd, Copper Harbor, MI
- Directions:
- From Copper Harbor drive east on US-41 for 2.5 miles until it ends (From this point, all the roads are dirt logging roads). Continue straight onto Mandan Rd for between four and five miles. Turn left onto High Rock Bay Rd. Drive 2.5 miles until the road forks. Park, then take the left fork (Rocket Range Rd) and walk the last half-mile down to the monument.
