Magnolia, Mississippi: Lynyrd Skynyrd Crash Site Monument
Black granite monument eight feet tall and 14 feet wide with steps leading up to it. Marks the swampy spot where Lynyrd Skynyrd's tour plane crashed on Oct. 20, 1977, killing six and surprisingly not killing the other 20 on board.

- Directions:
- I-55 exit 8 at official Skynyrd Crash exit signs. Drive west on MS-568 for 7.5 miles. Turn left onto Easley Rd. You'll see the monument ahead, on the right.

A nice touch -- the flight manifest. I'm surprised there were so many survivors.

A very well done tribute, whether you are a Lynyrd Skynyrd fan or not. Found it using both Roadside America and gps, more or less, and is off to the side of the main highway. Was on a backroad trip with my brother who had tickets to that last concert that never happened.
Three black stone markers stand tall with writing describing the band's accomplishments, including the 2006 Rock n Roll Hall of Fame induction, and the 1977 crash. I almost missed the etchings on the back. There is a guestbook as well.
