Secretariat won horse racing's Triple Crown in 1973, and people still talk about him; this statue was dedicated in 2019. The larger-than-life bronze sculpture captures the horse in mid-gallop.

A major symbol of horse racing, this 3,800-pound statue was installed October 14, 2019, at Alexandria Drive and Old Frankfort Pike in Lexington. The larger-than-life statue is 21 feet from hoof to hoof and more than 11 feet tall. Washington sculptor Jocelyn Russell made the sculpture in Oklahoma, and it was transported to Lexington in early October. It took nearly 16 months to complete.
