Giant Walleye in Walleye Capital of the World

The Giant Walleye is pretty huge. The paint on the walleye is high quality, so it's beautiful and photographs well. There's a sign posted that says, "Keep off the Walleye" (where else would you see a sign that says that?). It's fun to pose with, and you really need people in the photos for scale.

Large Walleye

Yet another large fiberglass walleye in Minnesota! The walleye sits on a base with "Welcome to Garrison!" on it, and has a stone pavilion to itself with a shorter stone column (can't remember if it was a memorial or anything) behind it. The main thing this particular giant walleye has going for it is the view of Lake Mille Lacs immediately behind it. The pavilion is right on the shoreline. Also, it's conveniently located right on Highway 169 across from McDonalds, for those who want to see a giant walleye and eat lunch in one stop!

A big fish statue is a public fixture in almost any town claiming to be the Walleye Capital of the World.

Giant Walleye

The giant walleye in Garrison is currently under repair and not on display. As soon as it's been repainted, etc., a new base will be built for it and it will be moved to another spot in town, according to the locals. They weren't able to tell me where; it's still under discussion.
