Wilson Bentley, born in Jericho in 1865, is known for his scientific research and photographic work in the study of snowflakes. Beginning in January 1885 he took over 5,000 microphotographs of snow crystals using a microscope and a bellows camera. The Old Red Mill Museum displays his microscope and many of his photos of snowflakes. And in the same building is a shop of locally made art items, including many framed snowflakes of Bentley's work.
