Geneva, Florida: Danville

This property is spread out over many acres. We met Dan tooling around on a custom golf cart to go feed his random feral cats in his airplane hangar. His yurts, soda house and tent sites were all sold out on a Tuesday. The Danville town is for weddings and was all closed up, but looks to be quite festive when occupied! He has giant tents, musical setups and pleasant hangouts all around the steel hangar...

Dan Shaw has turned an airplane hangar attached to his home into a small Main Street which includes a pub, a bed and breakfast, and a movie theater. He calls his creation Danville. He is the mayor; his wife is the sheriff. This is located on 25 acres that include other structures that you can stay in -- like yurts, a tree house, a man cave inside a second hanger and, soon, an airplane. Each unit includes a golf cart to tool around in. We stayed in a place called the cracker house which has an outside staircase for the goats to climb up on the roof. Dan will take people for rides in his Cessna, and there are Segways to ride, and alpacas, goats, chickens, and an alligator. This is a crazy place.
