For many years the massive Happy Foot/Sad Foot sign revolved on a pole near a foot clinic on the corner of Sunset Boulevard and Benton, and local residents used the landmark to nickname their neighborhood "HaFoSaFo."
When foot doctor moved in 2019 the sign was taken down and rescued by the owners of Y Que Trading Post, an L.A.-centric souvenir shop on Vermont Avenue in the heart of Los Feliz. The Happy/Sad signs are displayed on an entire wall of the store, which is filled with irreverent t-shirts, mugs, and caps that are all made in-house by the owners. 99 percent of the souvenirs, many featuring the Happy Foot/Sad Foot, are unique to the shop, making it a worthwhile stop for tourists.
