Unexploded Bomb on Stand

An unexploded rusty bomb is displayed atop a stone column on the south side of Highway 62 between Sunkist and Hollinger Avenues. There are more on the east side of Twenty Nine Palms. Don't really know their purpose.

This particular "bomb" may in fact be an old fuel tank deceptively outfitted with fins.
