Pine Bluffs, Nebraska: Highest Point in Nebraska
Panorama Point, elevation 5,424 feet, has been marked by an official monument since 1971, but it's nearly as flat as everywhere else in Nebraska. You may pass by a buffalo herd to get there.

- Directions:
- Do not attempt in wet weather. Extreme southwest corner of the state, only a mile from Wyoming and less than a mile from Colorado. Take I-80 exit 401 in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. Drive south on Beech Ave./WY-164 for a little over nine miles. Turn left onto WY-203 (gravel roads from here on) and drive east (WY-203 turns into NE-6, bends south and then east again) for 3.5 miles. Turn right onto NE-5 and drive south for two miles. Turn right onto an unmarked road and drive about 1.5 miles: west, then north. The highest spot monument is at the end of this road.

Hard to find. Beech Avenue is the street you want -- it turns into WY 164. Exit 401 then turn left onto US-30 to Beech Ave. Rough roads and a three dollar donation to reach the place in the middle of a buffalo herd.
