The fiberglass statue, high up on a pole, became famous after Max's dealership landed its own one-year reality series, "Gods, Guns, and Automobiles," in 2013. Gun-toting Max promised a quick draw in an auto sales duel until his six-shooters (and arms) were removed in 2023.

On October 21, 2024, driving by on the highway, I saw that Max definitely does not have arms any more.

There are two Max Motors Cowboys. One is in Butler, Missouri, on the east side of I-49 exit 131. The other is this one, on the west side of I-49 exit 102B in Nevada. You can spot both from I-49, but this one is easier to see from the highway.
