The mural collapsed in 2017, and was repainted in 2019. The attached 3D fish were painted by non-artist citizens of Alpena.

I was in Alpena last week and totally missed this. My husband and I are in Alpena today so we went by to take a look. What an awesome mural.

A giant, colorful 3D fish mural is painted on the side of a building downtown. It's located on Chisholm Street. The fish are large sculptures attached to the wall, making it 3D. It was cool enough for us to drive all the way from Onaway to Alpena to see it.

High winds collapsed the mural and its wall in Oct. 2017. The original artist, Tony Hendrick, came back and repainted it in 2019. The attached 3D fish are made of styrofoam, and were painted by citizens of Alpena.
