Belton, Missouri: Carry Nation's Grave

The anti-saloon hatchet-whacker died in Kansas; her body was hauled here and buried in an unmarked grave. The Woman's Christian Temperance Union later paid for a tombstone and had it placed in an easily-seen spot.

Belton Cemetery. Enter the cemetery from the north side of W. Cambridge Rd, the entrance just west of S. Scott Ave. Carry's grave is only a couple hundred feet in, on the right; her tombstone is bigger than those around it.

Turn on First street into the cemetery -- we we're driving in circles and the lawn care guy stopped and goes "You looking for Carry Nation's grave?" I was like, "That obvious?" Good guy and we found it easily after that.
