Seven-foot-tall statue of a Chickasaw warrior by Enoch Kelly Haney, alumnus of the college on whose campus it stands. Named "Gus" by the students. College went bankrupt in 2024 and its grounds are now closed.

- Bacone College. North edge of the city. From US-62/Shawnee Bypass turn north at the stoplight onto OK-16/York St. Drive a half-mile. Turn right onto Old Bacone Rd. Drive a quarter-mile. When the road veers left, park in the lot on the right. Gus is there.

This property is no longer accessible. The college closed in 2024 and declared bankruptcy. The government took possession and No Trespassing signs are across the two roads onto the property.

The battered kettle was used by impoverished Cherokee in the years after the Civil War. More regal is the 2011 seven-foot-tall statue of "Gus," the Chickasaw warrior, by Bacone College alumnus Enoch Kelly Haney. Bacone College opened in 1880 as Bacone Indian University.
