Back in 1999 The Cleveland Free Times voted this the Worst Public Art in Cleveland - or anywhere else. The Cancer Survivors Plaza: a bizarre, phallic, Nazified nightmare. It's so hideous the surrounding survivor sculptures seem to running from it in fear and horror.
These uniquely unattractive cancer plazas have spread like ... a malignant and life-threatening disease all over America. You can find them in Kansas City, Omaha, Houston, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Ranch Mirage, Bakersfield, Columbus, OH, Chicago, Dallas, Phoenix, Santa Rosa, CA and Jacksonville. I'm all for elevation of the human spirit. These are just butt-ugly.
