The former Res-Mor Motel, which now seems to be apartments, was used by Elvis during several trips to Gladewater in 1954-55. Room 104 was supposedly his favorite.

- West end of town, on the north side of US-80/W. Upshur Ave. You'll see the old, now illegible, motel sign out front of a one-floor, white stucco building. The room 104 door is at the east end, on the back side. Private property, please be respectful; someone may be living here.

Gladewater is the home of the former Res-Mor Motel, built in the early 1950s.
In the very beginning, on his way to fame, rock 'n' roll legend Elvis Presley stayed in Gladewater at this hotel at various times in 1954-55. Room 104 was supposedly his favorite, although there is no sign or historical marker to commemorate the building's most famous guest.
Also in Gladewater is the Mint Club, where Elvis sang to make enough tip money to pay for his hotel room in Shreveport, Louisiana.

The Gladewater History Museum (116 W. Pacific Ave.) displays an entire Elvis exhibit. Its prize artifact is a lime green leather recliner, used by Elvis to rock to sleep the children of Tom Perryman, a local DJ who helped launch The King's career.
