Update on Indian Muffler Man at the Chieftain Motel in Carrington, ND. It's still in place, and can be found right on Highway 52 in downtown Carrington. Photo from the gas station across the street from the Chieftain Cafe.

I am happy to report the Carrington, ND Muffler Man is alive and well. I took this photo on 7/26/01. It is in front of the Chieftain Motel and Restaurant. I didn't record the exact address, but it is in the middle of town, and the town isn't that big.
[Nathan Forrider, 10/13/2002]This one, unlike Jesse Jamestown who was a mere half hour drive away, is an Indian and located at Carrington's finest -- the Chieftain Motel and Restaurant. I remember the thrill as a youngster driving through town, stopping at the restaurant to eat, and then climbing around the Indian Chief's feet.
