David Thompson Statue

There's a downtown statue of the British-Canadian explorer. He has a weird haircut.

[Capt Shaun, 06/11/2020]

The statue, by local artist Peter Goetzinger, probably captures the improvised hatchet-hacking haircuts of most early frontiersmen traveling without their hairdressers. David Thompson mapped much of the Pacific-Northwest over 200 years ago; tourists can join him peering along his sextant toward Lake Pend Orielle, which he also mapped.
