This fellow has landed a bit of advertising fame in a print ad for an antacid. He is captioned as "Bunyon Giant, Atlanta, IL" and shares the ad with Larry the Cable Guy, who is evidently a spokesman for the brand. The ad came in the coupon flyers of my local paper toward the end of October, but also showed up in Rolling Stone magazine around the same time.

The Muffler Man is still holding his big wiener in Atlanta, Illinois. There is a plaque with his history, and, best of all, there is a place across the street that sells great pie!
[Lesss23, 08/13/2012]Known locally as "The Bunyon Giant" because this Muffler Man originally stood in front of a hot dog stand named Bunyon's in nearby Cicero. He was moved to Atlanta -- a little further west on Route 66 -- in 2003.
The Hot Dog Man in Atlanta, IL is still ruling majestically over their town square.
