The monument covers eight acres. Its centerpiece is a replica of the Iwo Jima memorial, but there are other statues, along with 21 Christian crosses (representing the 21-gun salute), three "battlefield crosses," hundreds of flagpoles, and a wall engraved with thousands of names (The name directory is in a mailbox with an upturned flag). Everything is illuminated at night.
