The world's largest multipolar unmyelinated neuron model is ten feet high and 11 feet wide. It's lit up to simulate the synapses that run through the cell. The 10-foot-tall axon and axon terminals at the base hold up the dendrites that stretch out in an 11-foot-wide canopy over your head. The purple cell body and yellow nucleus are situated just under the dendrites. The model is inside The Great STEMporium, which is an indoor science center for kids with an extensive list of science activities.
