Mineral Wells, Texas: Vietnam-Era Helicopter Base
Former Fort Wolters was where Army chopper pilots trained during the latter years of the Vietnam War. Today there's a couple of old helicopters, and a monument.

Two helicopters flank the entrance to the former Fort, currently an industrial park. Although shaded, their plastic bubble canopies have hopelessly hazed in the Texas sun. Just inside the arched entrance is a monument to Southern Airways, which oversaw helicopter training until the Fort closed in 1973.
