A weathered concrete pillar with cemented-in guns marks the spot where Bobby Kennedy gave an impromptu memorial speech on the day Martin Luther King Jr. was killed.

- Park in the lot on the southwest corner of N. College Ave. and E. 17th St., then walk west along 17th St. You'll quickly come to a park with a circular sidewalk on the left. The marker is along that sidewalk, just south of the MLK-Kennedy mural.

The 1968 monument, later overshadowed by the elaborate "Landmark for Peace Memorial" to its north, commemorates an impromptu memorial speech given here by Bobby Kennedy on the day Martin Luther King Jr. was killed. It specifies "the mound to your left" as the precise spot, but the mound is gone.
