A fantastic place to immerse yourself in history. Old cars, a hotel, barber shop, schoolhouse, firehouse, stamp mill, buckboard, etc. Bathrooms - yes! Food and beverages - nope. Great staff (California State Park workforce). Rough road last three miles. 10 miles off of beautiful Highway 395.

Great place to visit if you are looking for a ghost town that really gives you an idea of what living in the old west might have been like. Worth the trip. Make sure you go on a nice day -- we went in April and it was very cold and windy. Bring your walking shoes as the sights are spread out, and if you want to see it all you will be doing some walking.

Admission was $7/person and there was plenty of parking. I zipped through the town and still spent two hours there. Be sure to climb the hill and visit the graveyard and pay your respects to the people who gave their lives to help make Bodie what it is today.
