Saw this sad scene while visiting the Paul Bunyan Amusement Center. A decommissioned Paul. This is not the 45 foot animatronic Paul at the Center's entrance (that addresses you by name as you enter).

The Paul Bunyan Amusement Center is closing September 7 to make room for a Kohl's department store (oh the humanity!). It is rumored to re-open on a Brainerd area farmers land (replete with a Paul Bunyan motel).

After the closing of Brainerd, MN's outstanding Paul Bunyan Center, the talking Paul Bunyan statue and Babe the Blue Ox will have new homes -- but not together. Owner Don McFarland was finally forced by declining attendance to scuttle the theme park and find alternative careers for his statues and employees.
