The monument is in a farm field on Rte 48, four miles north of Center, North Dakota. There's a picnic table and a maintained path out to the monument.

This was declared the Center in 2017 by Peter Rogerson, a geography professor at SUNY in Buffalo, New York. In June 2018 a large rock was placed atop the Center, as well as flags of Mexico, Canada, and the USA, and of course a sign.
