Two Guns - Route 66 Attractions In Ruins

I love old ruins. I went with my 4x5 camera but the sun wasn't in the right spot for shooting. It was cool to see the different buildings that once were. I didn't go in any of the wooden structures. There are some old paintings visible as well.

Seems most things at the site face sun-hostile north, towards the highway.

Looks like the remains of an old circus/zoo thing. Many of the buildings are just rubble, and there are still a few painted signs on some of the walls that are left standing. Fun place for the kids to explore.

Two Guns - Route 66 Attractions In Ruins

Two guns is alive. With history, mystery and still beauty. I was very enthralled with this site and spent much time. There are several areas with large ruins standing. I went over the concrete bridge with no trepidation. There is easy access if you weave around but I do have a jeep. I also explored on foot, climbing spiral stairs to an open window with a view. The wood slats down to the cave do not look safe or passable though. The building marked KOA is abandoned as everything else. I've seen many ruins with much less, so these were impressive.

Fences are pulled down, so makes for easy access. But beware -- lots of old rusty nails and glass! Booby traps! But definitely worth going off the beaten path.

Looks like someone is building something new at the old gas station - looks like a KOA logo on the side. Mountain lion area is still easy to get to if you're careful in the car (lots of ruts) and the small building with two guns and the Route 66 logo is clear.
